A Community School is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. With the school building as a hub, a Community School brings together many partners to offer a range of opportunities for children and adults before, during, and after school as well as during evenings and weekends.
Bowen Community School offers activities for students such as tutoring, sports, arts and crafts, clubs, field trips, and homework help.
No Cost or Fees
The cost to you is free. Metropolitan Family Services offers this program due to a grant from the 21st Century Community Learning Center, part of the Illinois State Board of Education.
We encourage parents and guardians, teachers, and community members to become involved. Workshops and adult activities are available. We also need your input for focus groups and advisory board meetings. To be an active part of Bowen Community School, please contact us by calling Jacelyn Pitre at (773) 616.1433.
