Social and Emotional Learning
At Bowen, we believe in educating the whole child and recognize that this requires us to focus on more than just academics. To help our students cope with the challenges and struggles they may encounter outside of school, we strategically infuse social and emotional learning opportunities into our work in classrooms and extracurricular opportunities.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) teaches the skills we all need to handle ourselves, our relationships, and our work effectively and ethically. We believe that these skills can be cultivated so that the child will gain both short-term and long-term advantages in regard to well-being, performance, and success in life.
